This page explains what we are building, how it will work, and why it is a different thing from the Unicode text styles on the rest of this site. The tool is not live yet; the description below is the honest plan, not a demo.

What an AI font generator is
A font is a file: a set of drawn outlines, one per character, plus spacing and kerning data that tells software how the letters sit next to each other. Traditional type design produces those outlines by hand over weeks or months. A generative model shortcuts the first draft. Trained on the geometry of thousands of existing typefaces, it can propose a coherent set of shapes from a prompt — the stroke weight, the contrast between thick and thin, whether the terminals are cut flat or rounded, how wide the counters are. The result arrives as a real font file rather than as pictures of letters, which is what makes it usable in a design tool, a document or a website rather than only as a screenshot. Quality varies wildly by prompt and by how much of the character set you need, and that is precisely why we are building this carefully instead of shipping a novelty button: an incomplete alphabet, broken spacing, or missing accented characters makes a font unusable in practice, however good the sample word looks.
How it will work

You describe the typeface in words
Weight, width, contrast, mood, era, what it is for. “A condensed grotesk with flat terminals for a sports poster” is a far better prompt than “cool font”, because every one of those words maps to a decision a type designer would otherwise make by hand.

The model drafts a consistent set of letterforms
The hard requirement is not one beautiful letter — it is fifty-two letters, ten numerals and the punctuation that all look like they came from the same family. Stem widths, x-height, overshoot on round letters and the angle of the stress have to agree across the whole set, or the alphabet reads as a ransom note.

Spacing and kerning are fitted
Outlines alone do not make a usable font. Each glyph needs sidebearings, and awkward pairs like AV, To and r. need kerning corrections. This step is what separates a font you can actually set a paragraph in from a picture of an alphabet.

You get a font file, and you can iterate
The output is a real installable file rather than an image, so it works in design tools, documents and on the web. If the result is close but not right, you adjust the description — heavier, wider, less quirky — and generate again.
How this differs from the Unicode styles here
These two things are often given the same name, and the confusion costs people time. One rewrites your text with characters that already exist; the other draws new characters that did not exist before. Which one you want depends entirely on where the text has to appear.
Unicode text styles (live on this site today)
Your letters are swapped for look-alike characters that already exist in the Unicode standard. Nothing is installed, the result is still plain text, and it survives a copy-paste into an Instagram bio, a Discord name or a chat message. The trade-off: the shapes are fixed — you pick from what Unicode already defines — and some devices show boxes for the rarer blocks.
AI font generation (this page, in development)
A new typeface is drawn from your description and delivered as a font file. The shapes are original and unlimited, but the font has to be installed or embedded to be seen — pasting it into a social bio would do nothing, because a bio field renders text in whatever font the platform chose. Use it for design work, not for styling a username.

- Is the AI font generator available now?
- No. It is in development and this page is a preview. The prompt box above is not connected to anything yet — pressing the button tells you the same thing. There is no waitlist and we are not collecting email addresses.
- How is this different from the font styles elsewhere on this site?
- Completely different. The rest of the site does Unicode substitution: it swaps your letters for look-alike characters that already exist in the Unicode standard, so the result is still text you can paste into a bio. An AI font generator produces a new typeface — a font file with drawn outlines — that you install and apply. Unicode styles work anywhere text is accepted but the shapes are fixed; a generated font gives you original shapes but has to be installed to be seen.
- Will the generated font be mine to use commercially?
- That depends on the licensing terms we settle on before launch, and we will state them plainly on this page rather than bury them. We would rather answer this question late and correctly than promise something now.
- Will it cover accents, numerals and punctuation?
- That is the hard part and the main reason the tool is not out yet. A display font that only draws A–Z looks impressive in a preview and falls apart in real use, so full coverage of the basic Latin set, numerals and common punctuation is the bar we are working towards.
- What can I use in the meantime?
- If what you actually need is styled text for a bio, username or caption, the Unicode generators on this site already do that today and need no installation. The related links below are the fastest way in.
