The effect uses U+0332 after each visible character, which the renderer draws as a low line under the preceding glyph. Since your letters are untouched, the text stays fully readable and searchable — a rare advantage among these styles. Continuous underlines depend on the font: tight spacing looks solid, loose spacing shows gaps.
