Italic
Italics began as a compact Renaissance book hand and only later became the companion style to Roman type. The Unicode versions were encoded for mathematical notation, where a slanted letter means a variable. Coverage is complete apart from the italic h, which reuses the Planck-constant character.

- Unicode reuses the Planck-constant glyph for italic h. It is the standard character, just from a different block.
